Fertilizer : Fertilise your Fan Palm every two weeks in summers and spring with a standard houseplant fertilizer. Fronds of the palm benefit from a good micronutrient rich fertiliser.
Repotting : The Fan Palm does not need to be repotted often. Repot your plant every year to refresh the soil and shift it to a bigger pot only when roots are growing out of the pot, as it prefers tight root bound soil system in small pots.
Propogation : Fan Palm can be propagated using seeds. You can also propagate Fan Palm by cutting an offshoot with root nodes from the main plant and planting it in a good soil mix.
1. Why is Fan Palm wilting?
Wilting leaves of the fan palm are a clear indication of underwatering. Water it promptly to avoid leaf shrivelling.
2. Why are my Fan Palm leaves yellowing?
The leaves/fronds of Fan Palm yellow due to irregular watering and a parched plant. Water your plant regularly whenever the topsoil dries out. Ensure that the soil is moist at all times but not soggy.
3. Why ae the leaf tips of my fan palm browning?
Browning tips of Fan Palm leaves is caused by overwatering, insufficient light, or low humidity. If over-watering seems to be the issue, water it less frequently and only when the topsoil dries out. Move your plant to an area with brighter indirect light to solve the problem of insufficient lighting and do regular misting to increase humidity.
